I need to become an expert in the field of reliable items. I have changed my field of studies many times; mainly because every time I found something interesting, later on I have found it is not that useful. But there is something that is ALWAYS useful and that is, RELIABILITY.
It does not matter whether you are working on advanced marine systems or just a simple house grid; What you always need, is reliable items. So that is why I read and learn and research about reliability. It is not some specific field but a mother to all fields.
Another thing I have learned is that systems, humans, parts, nature, all act as networks. We are all connected and so if I wanna study a system and improve it’s reliability, I need to look at the world as a network and that is why I should learn about networks.
The third area I need to become an expert in, is AI. Not because I love it or it is somehow interesting for me (believe me, it is not) but because it is the leading science in the world these days. Working on a problem these days without AI is almost like solving any engineering problem without math. It might be possible but the outcome will be much less practical.
The final area is of course Optimization. Not only this is the main column in industrial engineering but also because how am I supposed to improve reliability without optimizing things?
